Buying Puma pre-owned
Puma turns up in imported lots more often than people expect, usually in the low profile suede and leather styles rather than the running lines. Suede is the thing to understand before buying one pre-owned: it takes a scuff easily and it takes water badly, and both are permanent in a way leather is not.
We brush suede rather than wash it, and we say so in the cleaning list. A suede pair that has been soaked and dried has a stiff, darker patch that is visible from across a room, and we do not list those.
The formstrip along the side is stitched on the older pairs and heat pressed on the newer ones. A lifting pressed strip is a repair that does not hold, so a pair with one does not reach the shelf.
Whatever is written here, the number we publish on a pair is the one we measured on that object. What our condition ratings mean.
