One pair at a time
We buy imported pre-owned footwear, clean it by hand, photograph the actual pair, and describe it exactly as it is. Then we sell it once.
Whose shoes were these
Somebody else's. That is the whole proposition, and pretending otherwise would be the first thing we got wrong.
They arrive in imported lots. We go through them by hand and most of what comes in does not make it onto this site: nothing below 5 out of 10 is listed here at all, not cheaply, not as is, not with a warning. If a pair is not worth wearing we are not the people who should be selling it to you.
What we do to a pair
Washed, deodorised, soles cleaned, laces replaced where they need it. What was actually done to your pair is listed on its own page, not described in general here, because "professionally restored" means nothing and "laces replaced" means something.
Cleaning does not raise a rating. A well cleaned 6 is a 6 that looks and smells good. The number is about the wear, and the wear does not wash out.
Why every photograph is of that exact pair
Because it is the only thing on this site that cannot be argued with. There are no catalogue shots here and no pictures of a different pair in the same style. If a shoe has a scuff on the left toe, the scuff is in the photographs, it is in the words, and it is in the rating.
It also means a pair cannot be replaced. When it sells, it is gone, and its page stays up as the record of what was sold and how it was described.
What we will not tell you
We do not authenticate footwear and we will not pretend to. What we do is print what is marked on the shoe and stop there. If the tongue says one thing and the box says another, the listing says both.
We also do not print a price it "used to be". There is one price, it is what we think the pair is worth in the state it is in, and if it does not sell we lower it rather than inventing a discount.
And if we get it wrong
You have 7 days from the day the parcel arrives to change your mind, no reason needed. The whole policy, with the arithmetic.
The rating scale is published, in full, and it means the same thing on every listing. Read it before you buy.
